Betweenthetrees.com started as just my painting portfolio site in 2001. The name betweenthetrees does mean something. I was taking a Zen/Buddhism class taught by Cliff Edwards author of Van Gogh and God. We had to keep a journal, of thoughts, about the readings, our thoughts, the news, whatever seemed appropriate. I was sitting near a pond in the UR campus in VA. Sitting among trees, looking at some young birch trees in front of me. The space between the trees some how reminded me of my childhood. The distance, the memories, the time/space between them is anywhere anytime, now then.

I started Oil Painting in college around 1990. In 2002 I got the opportunity to paint my first mural in the Virginia Holocaust Museum that lead into painting 4 more murals in the museum. Dec 2006 I painted the Godspeed mural in Richmond VA for the 400th Anniversary of Jamestown. September 2009 I completed 56 String Movement on West 56th street in Manhattan.

I enjoy being part of the creative process, whether it’s oil painting, painting a mural, working in flash, being part of a student film or a music project or building a spaceship.
